Project Display Board

I told April just last night, that I was ready for some non-Christmas crafts. This morning much to my surprise, I found this! I have the perfect spot for this -- actually two perfect spots, one and home and one at work. I'll be making this soon!

Wreath Hanger

I really like this but as I read the instructions, I'm a bit lost as to why in the instruction pictures there are 2 spinals - but it looks like they only used one. I think I am going to give this a try so I'll let you know the outcome.

Part 2 -- My Version of --

I really fell in love with these---

I wasn't hosting Thanksgiving so I decided to just make mine and use them with my Christmas decorating. I talked April into coming over last Saturday and we made about 8 in 15 minutes. She called me Thanksgiving morning and said how cute they looked filled with small pumpkins, fall leaves, cranberries, etc. I wish I would have run over and taken pictures but that thought didn't cross my mind until later - must have had turkey on the brain!

I really like how these turned out - I can't wait to change up the inside fillers for the different seasons! I had some berry picks that weren't being used so I cut the berries off and fill up the hurricane lamp. I have one more to fill and I think I'm going to use peppermint candies.

My Version of ---

Remember this....

Here is my version of the Christmas Ornament Wreath-

I like how it turned out but just a few tips if you decide to make this --
1. Hot glueing (is that even a word??) the top hanger things is a MUST! It does take a little bit of time but less time that having them pop off the hanger in the middle of your project.
2. Once I strung the ornaments on the wire hanger and pushed them together as tight as I could, I still felt like it needed some more volume so I hot glued more ornaments on top of the ones strung on the wire.

On a side note -- I've had many people ask me about the cloth I hang over my door, which is the paisley material you can see behind the wreath. I took the idea from my SIL, Marci - she was using hers as a decorative piece but mine is actually a MARRIAGE SAVER! Yes, a marriage saver! I like my front door decorated for each season but Todd hates how they scrap and scratch the door. (I will admit that after 8 years the front door decor really had made the front door look horrible!) Late summer, we had our front door repainted and it looked brand spankin' new -- but was missing the decor - so that's when I stole Marci's idea. I've sewn one for fall and now Christmas so when I sew a new one I will post the details. But now you know the secret to a happy marriage -- a piece of cloth over your front door!!
